Epiphyllum, bladkaktus, orkidékaktus, djungelkaktus ja kärt barn har många namn.

Plantorna i sig är inte mycket att se, speciellt inte när de är unga.

Men blommorna är verkligen som tagna från en annan värld!

Än så länge har bara ett fåtal av dem blommat, men nya bilder kommer allt eftersom.

But the flowers are as if they were taken from another world!

Epiphyllum phyllanthus Är mycket lång i sitt bladverk. Blomorna är mycket l ånga. Och pga. kopparnas utseende kallas dessa för Dutchmans Pipe. Det är en nattblommande art med ganska stark doft. Is very long in its foliage. The flowers are very long. And due. the cup looks like, these are called for Dutchmans Pipe. It is a night blooming species with rather strong scent.

Knopparna blir större och större. Och när det närmar sig är det bara att sitta uppe den natten.

Mitt på natten slår de ut och doften är fantastisk! En stark doft av vanilj fyller rummet.

Och på morgonen är det över. Då hänger blommorna som en frostskadad grönsak från stammarna.

The buds get larger and larger. And when the time comes you just have to stay up that night.

In the middle of the night the flowers open and the sent is fantastic! A strong sent of vanilla fills the room.

And in the morning it’s all over. Then the flowers hang like a frostbitten vegetable from the stems.
